Baseco

Baseco, on the outskirts of Manila is a slum built on the city’s garbage dump. Over 100,000 people live in this extreme disease filled poverty without clean water, electricity, sewer and ever muddy slum. Thousands of children are searching the rubbish piles for food and any salvageable items to use as toys or in the household.
Our ministry in Baseco is to help the children with basic clean nutrition, medical care, education and Christ centered ministry. We also run family assistance programs, feeding programs for malnourished children and we undertake light medical work. Many lives are changed and new hope is buzzing everywhere around our centre.

Cordirella Values Education

Five provinces in northern Philippines form the Cordirella region. There are over 65,000 children in this area for whom a door has opened to be learning values education. Our team who partners with Canada’s Bible League visits elementary and secondary schools undertaking training for teachers and students in values. Manuals and picture Bibles are given to all students and a program is put into place for a weekly lesson on ethical, moral and Christian values. We are currently reaching over 2,000 students every month and the feedback from the students and the teachers is full of hope.

Balut-Tondo, Manila

This area is close to Baseco on the outskirts of Manila and most children that are attended to come from poor families and they seldom eat nutritious food. Many of them come to our partner’s (YWAM) school on an empty stomach. There are up to 100 children benefiting from feeding programs, education, and ministry. Many times they bring their young brothers and sisters with them to school as they are the ones who provide the care for them.
